چکیده

According to modern grid regulations, doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) needs to operate without losing synchronism during grid faults. But, severe fault leads to rise in stator and rotor current to a higher value and generator will get damaged. Large oscillations in stator real and reactive power are produced and consequently large torque oscillations get developed. To overcome the above affects due to severe faults, enhanced field oriented control technique (EFOC) is adopted in rotor side control of the DFIG. In EFOC technique, rotor flux reference changes its value from synchronous speed to zero or to a smaller value during fault for injecting current at the rotor slip frequency. In this method, DC-offset component of stator flux is controlled to minimize it. This offset decomposition of flux will be oscillatory in a conventional FOC, whereas in EFOC it can damp quickly. The reference frame for rotor during fault changes with EFOC, so as to make the rotor speed not to deviate much from the reference value. This makes the decomposition of flux during fault to be controlled and make the generator winding current not to exceed to higher values. The proposed EFOC technique with fuzzy controller can damp pulsations in electromagnetic oscillations, improve voltage mitigation and limit surge currents *Corresponding author: G.V. GA-Based Optimal LQR Controller to Improve LVRT Capability of DFIG Wind Turbines

Nowadays, the doubly-fed induction generators (DFIGs) based wind turbines (WTs) are the dominant type of WTs connected to grid. Traditionally the back-to-back converters are used to control the DFIGs. In this paper, an Indirect Matrix Converter (IMC) is proposed to control the generator. Compared with back-to-back converters, IMCs have numerous advantages such as: higher level of robustness, re...

Low Voltage Ride Through Enhancement Based on Improved Direct Power Control of DFIG under Unbalanced and Harmonically Distorted Grid Voltage

In the conventional structure of the wind turbines along with the doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG), the stator is directly connected to the power grid. Therefore, voltage changes in the grid result in severe transient conditions in the stator and rotor. In cases where the changes are severe, the generator will be disconnected from the grid and consequently the grid stability will be attenu...

Performance Evaluation of DFIG During Asymmetrical Grid Disturbances Using Internal Model Controller and Resonant Controller

In this paper, grid disturbances like asymmetrical sag and swell faults in phase-A are analyzed for the grid connected DFIG. The dynamic behavior of DFIG is compared and tabulated with results using state error compensators like PI, PI with resonant (PIR) and internal model control (IMC) on rotor side converter (RSC). The RSC is designed analytically with enhanced field oriented control (EFOC) ...

This paper presents a new nonlinear backstepping controller for a direct-driven permanent magnet synchronous generator-based wind turbine, which is connected to the power system via back-to-back converters. The proposed controller deals with maximum power point tracking (MPPT) in normal condition and enhances the low-voltage ride-through (LVRT) capability in fault conditions. In this method, to...
